As a last minute decision, we decided to attend Nu World Music Festival, a two day event that brings a taste of African music to Cape Town for Mandela Day weekend. The lineup of artists was extremely diverse, each offering a unique sound and an overall fun musical experience! If you ever get a chance to attend this event, it is so worth it!
The main stage was in the theater at city hall, which is also where Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her 21st birthday! We had been wanting to attend a live event at this venue and this was our chance. It was what we imagined and more! Both the main stage, DJ stage, and overall atmosphere offered such cool vibes!
As a bonus, we also got to check out the Madiba Jive! To celebrate the 67 years Nelson Mandela devoted to the service of humanity, No Danger Diaries organized a 67 hour dance for Madiba that moves around to different locations in Cape Town, Johannesburg, and London!
We ended up staying at the festival for 7 hours, dancing to different genres of music, drinking with friends, and just enjoying the array of performers from around the globe!
