Day 148-Embrace Your Inner Child

Cape Town

[Pretty in Pink Birthday Party]

The best thing I’ve heard all day was from a 6 year old’s mother..

“Do you plan on having kids? You won’t in 45 minutes. Coming to these kids birthday parties are the best contraception.”

Attending a 6 year old girl’s birthday party is a rare occasion for me, let alone painting a handful of giddy girl’s faces with swirls and sparkles! Although I think we missed the memo to dress in a pink filly tutu. Not that I have one in my closet or anything… ! It’s been so long since I have been around so many kids! It is such a great reminder of what it’s like to be child again, running around without a care in the world. To be honest, it’s not too far fetched for us to feel the same way as adults. Sometimes we get so caught up in what is expected of us that we forget to embrace our inner child, to just let go, be playful and have fun. What is life all about if we can’t enjoy it?!

Now to get these sparkles out of our clothes..
