Day 110-Sri Lanka

[Beautiful Unawatuna Beach]

This beach amazes me! I still can’t get over this pearly aquamarine water and gold sand. Dive shops fill the east end while cafes and guesthouses stretch along the rest of the beach. On the west side, there is a trail that leads to Jungle Beach. Perched on top of a hill overlooking the beach is a pagoda. Where else would you find a Buddhist statue, beach huts, sun beds, and fishing boats all in one panoramic shot?!

Una is also home to a lot of good parties and raves. So much so that locals from Colombo come down on special occasions just to party for the night! If this isn’t your scene, don’t worry! It is still a great spot and by no means does it seem like a party beach. Just try to book accommodation away from the center of town, unless you enjoy the sounds of deep house until 7 in the morning!
