Day 81-Laos

Vientiane

[Street food at the night market]

When I travel for a long period of time, I often have “off days” where I am just burnt out and need a break. Today was one of those days. Constantly on the go, moving from city to city, lack of sleep, and a lot of physical activity..it’s all catching up to me. That being said, I spent my day watching movies at the hostel with everyone else that chose air conditioning over 40 degrees of humidity.

For such a small capital city, Vientiane has a buzzing night market! I found a street food vendor that sold a variety of deep fried snacks, similar to the Chinese ones we eat at home. That literally made my day!

A challenge when you are constantly traveling is to realize when a break is needed before getting to that point. So I ended up booking a flight to Bali for a week or two of relaxation!

“If you cannot find a good companion to walk with, walk alone, like an elephant roaming the jungle. It is better to be alone than to be with those who hinder your progress” -Buddha
