Day 44-Brunei

Kota Kinabalu-Bandar Seri Begawan

[Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque]

After 7 hours of driving, 7 checkpoints and passport stamps, we have arrived in Bandar Seri Begawan, Brunei. A small sultanate country ruled by the same family for over 600 years, it has a population of 428,000 people.

Unfortunately, there are restrictions as to when the mosque is open to the public. We observed its magnificent architecture from the outside while prayers blasted over the speakers surrounding the area.
