Day 41-Malaysia

Kota Belud

[Viewpoint trail at the base of Mt. Kinabalu]

Mount Kinabalu (4095m) is one of the highest mountains in South East Asia. It also hosts the worlds highest Via Ferrata (Italian for “iron road”), a protected climbing route. Driven by my love of adventure and high elevation, I was a little devastated when my injuries prevented me from scaling to the summit over a 2 day trek. Instead, we found a trail near the base of the mountain that led to a beautiful viewpoint! There will always be a next time!
